Abdullahi Shatters Ten-Year Program Record at Chicagoland

Track and field wraps three-meet weekend
ILLINOIS/FLORIDA – DePaul track and field closed its full weekend of competition on Saturday with four event victories and a historic performance in the men's 3,000m, competing at a trio of meets in Elmhurst, Miami and Tampa.
At Lawson Field in Elmhurst, Mohamed Abdullahi crossed in 8:23.47 to break a program mark that had stood since 2016, with Kyle Clark backing him up in second and Mason Krieg rounding out the top five in fifth. John Bush claimed the 800m title in 1:53.03, with Owen Larkins close behind in fourth. Both Caleb Schulz and Alex Long-Craine clocked 10.66 to go second and third in the 100m, and Ian Bello placed fifth in the 400m. Musa Butler was third in the 400m hurdles at 56.47. On the women's side, Tessa Roe won the 3,000m in 9:53.95 with Vivian Wyller fourth, while Isabella Orozco and Amelia Montgomery went third and fourth in the 800m at 2:12.92 and 2:15.23.
In Miami for day two of the Hurricane Alumni Invitational, Jaiah Hopf took first in the triple jump at 12.62m, with Eveline Reno adding a third-place finish and a fifth-place high jump. On the men's side, Isaiah Hopf was third in the triple jump at 15.10m. The heptathlon wrapped up with Aubrey Phillips eighth overall at 4,636 points and Ashleigh McArdle ninth.
At the South Florida Invitational in Tampa, Claire Dunn was the standout on the women's side, placing fifth in both the 200m and 400m. The women's 4x400m relay of Kayliah Motes, Nadja Moll, Aisha Kazeem and Dunn finished fifth in 3:43.67 to close out the Blue Demons' full weekend.
