DePaul Assembles Strong Performances Final Day of Gibson Invitational

The Blue Demons head home after a weekend of competition
TERRE HAUTE, In. - Darius Brown represented DePaul in the 110m Hurdles, coming in first with a time of 14.05. The Blue Demons concluded the meet with four more event wins.
"With the quality weather, it was great to see our team get out there and compete," said head coach Dave Dopek. "We will need to continue to make this kind of progress towards the Big East Conference Championships. It all about growth right now."
In the field, Kindle Miles threw in the shot put for 12.63m, which covered a third place finish and a new personal best. Just behind her, Noelle Malkamaki threw for fourth place and also hit a new personal record. On the track, the women had multiple event wins. Jetta Mays championed the 100m in 11.52, Kiersten Walker won the 400m with a time of 54.66M and Alexa Havon ran a 2:16.45 for first in the 800m.
For the men, Myles Marshall made his season debut in the long jump, jumping for a distance of 6.74m. Ian Cox competed in the shot put throwing for a distance of 11.98m. On the oval, Jarel Terry finished the 400m dash in second followed by Michael Stanley who placed fifth and Joshua Edmonds in ninth. In the 800m, Joe Knanishu ran for a time of 1:55.59 to finish third. Will Previdi and Jarel Terry rounded out the day for the Demons in the 3000m Steeplechase taking first and second, respectively.
DePaul will be back in action next weekend at the Clarke Wood Open in Louisville, Kentucky.
