Short-handed DePaul Falls 6-1 Sunday at Marquette

Eleanor Nobbs came through with a victory at No. 3 singles
MILWAUKEE – A short-handed Blue Demon women's tennis team ran into some difficulties Sunday at Helfaer Tennis Stadium.
Having to default a doubles match and a singles match contributed greatly to a 6-1 loss at BIG EAST rival Marquette.
That evened DePaul's overall record to 6-6 in the dual-match season, 3-1 in conference. Marquette improved to 10-7, 3-0.
Freshman Eleanor Nobbs racked up a point for the visiting team with a 6-1, 5-7, 1-0 victory at No. 3 singles over Elizabeth Ferdman.
Nobbs is having an immediate impact on coach Marisa Arce's program since coming to Lincoln Park from her hometown of Bath in England.
She is 15-9 overall in singles and 7-5 in the dual season, having won her last two matches. Teaming with Valentina Martin, Nobbs is 5-0 at No. 3 doubles.
The Blue Demons head East next weekend for BIG EAST encounters at Seton Hall on Friday and St. John's on Sunday.
