DePaul Cross Country Opens Season at Bradley Intercollegiate

Blue Demons head to Detweiller Park
CHICAGO - The DePaul men and women's cross country teams hit the road to open the 2022 season at the Bradley Invitational.Â
The race will take place at Detweiller Park in Peoria, Ill. The women's three mile race will begin at 5:15 p.m. with the men's 8k race starting at 6 p.m.
Teams participating in both events include Chicago State, McKendree, Eureka, Illinois College, Western Illinois, Bradley, Monmouth, Carl Sandburg College and Missouri St. Louis. Morton College and UNA-Palatine will join in the men's field.Â
The 2021 season saw the Blue Demons cross country team attend five meets before the conference championship. Dominic Bruce and Shane Knanishu were the lead finishers for the men's team, helping finish fifth at the BIG EAST Championships. This is the best finish in program history since joining the conference in 2005.
Senior Olivia Borowiak earned all-conference honors for the second year in row in 2021. Borowiak also earned 26th in the 2021 NCAA Midwest Regionals, the best finish for DePaul since 2001.Â
Following the trip to Peoria, the Blue Demons will be in Chicago for the Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational hosted by Loyola.Â
