DePaul gets off to a great start
EAST LANSING, Mich. - The DePaul women's tennis team competed on day one of the Spartan Invite, hosted by Michigan State University in East Lansing, Mich.
In the Izzo Flight, Hannah Smith and Maddie Yergler competed as a doubles team to take down Erika Dimitriev / Isabella Righi from Northern Illinois, 6-1.
Eleanor Nobbs also competed in the Izzo Flight for singles competition and gained her first win of the weekend against Erika Dimitriev from NIU, 6-2, 6-4. Maddie Yergler fell to NIU's Isabella Righi6-4, 3-6, 6-3 in her first singles matchup of the weekend.
In the Tuck Comin' Flight, the Blue Demons had Greta Carbone and Mayya Perova matched up for doubles. Carbone and Perova defeated WMU's Maya Perkucin / Audrey Smitek, 6-3.
Valentina Martin also competed for DePaul today in the Tuck Comin' Flight, as she defeated Audrey Smitek, 6-3.
Perova closed out competition for the Blue Demons today as she earned a singles win over Maya Perkucin from WMU.
The DePaul women's tennis team will be back in action on Saturday as they continue competition in East Lansing, Mich at the Spartan Invite.
