DePaul Hosts Seton Hall Saturday Morning
1/13/2023 1:50:00 PM | MEN'S BASKETBALL
CHICAGO – The DePaul men's basketball team looks to piece together it's second-straight win as they host Seton Hall, Saturday, Jan. 14 inside Wintrust Arena. The game is slated for an 11 a.m. CT tip on FS1 with Matt Schumacker and Nick Bahe on the call. Zach Zaidman and Dave Corzine will have the radio broadcast on WSCR 670 The Score.
IMPORTANT FAN PARKING INFORMATION
Due to several convention center, arena and hotel events taking place simultaneously on the McCormick Place campus this weekend, you should expect heavy traffic and extremely limited parking availability for Saturday's game.
Fans are encouraged to use public transportation and rideshare options to travel to the game. Parking spaces on Level 3 of Lot A will be held until tipoff (11 a.m.) for permit holders (blue hangtag). After tipoff, parking spaces will not be guaranteed for permit holders.
It is very unlikely that Lot A parking will be available for gameday purchase for non-permit holders. Those without permits should seek parking options at nearby lots or consider public transportation and rideshare options.
SCOUTING DEPAUL
DePaul (8-9, 2-4 BIG EAST) looks to continue its momentum following Tuesdays, 75-65, win against Villanova. The Blue Demons snapped a 22-game losing streak against Villanova, the largest active streak in power conference basketball. The Blue Demons were led by a breakout performance from Da'Sean Nelson who scored a career-high 24 points in addition to seven rebounds.
DePaul is 6-2 at home this season and scores on average 79.4 points per game at home, over 15 points higher than their road scoring average.
THE SERIES
Seton Hall holds a large 21-9 advantage in the all-time series, however, DePaul split a pair of games last season. The teams each won their home contest, which included a 96-92 win at home for DePaul. DePaul has held the series much closer at home as Seton Hall's series advantage is 8-7 when playing in Chicago.
SCOUTING SETON HALL
Seton Hall (10-8, 3-4 BIG EAST) wraps up a stretch of five of their last seven games on the road. The Pirates have been 2-4 on the road this season, including a win Tuesday at Georgetown. Al-Amir Dawes leads Seton Hall with 11.7 points per game followed by Tyrese Samuel with 10.8 as the only Pirates averaging double-digit scoring.
Seton Hall has been led largely by their effort on the defensive end, ranking top-40 nationally in field goal and three-point field goal percentage defense. KC Ndefo has been a large part of the Pirates defense, coming to Seton Hall with Shaheen Holloway from Saint Peter's. Ndefo currently ranks 15th nationally with 39 blocks on the season.
