CHICAGO - DePaul women's tennis starts up their spring slate of competition on Saturday, Jan. 14 with the NIU Invite. The three-day tournament will serve as a tune-up prior to dual season and will include four other schools: Iowa, Marshall, Montana State and Northern Illinois.
Matches will take place at the Nelson Tennis Center at Chick Evans Fieldhouse on NIU's campus. Each matchday will begin at 9 a.m. CT. Saturday and Sunday will consist of one round of singles and two rounds of doubles while Monday will see only a round of singles.
The Blue Demons return five members of the 2021-22 squad that went 9-9 overall and 4-3 in conference play, earning the title of BIG EAST runner-ups. Greta Carbone and Mayya Perova come from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Hannah Smith from Silchester, England. All three made their DePaul debuts during the fall season.
Following the completion of the NIU Invite, women's tennis will head to Texas to take on Lamar on Friday, Jan. 20. Competition begins at 2 p.m.
