Blue Demons take on third top-25 opponent in last four games
CHICAGO – The DePaul men's basketball team returns home to Wintrust Arena for the first time in over a week, where they will be welcomed by a sold-out crowd for Saturday's matchup against No. 16 Marquette. The game is slated for a 1 p.m. tip on FS1 with Jeff Levering and Lavall Jordan on the call. Zach Zaidman and Dave Corzine have the radio call on WSCR 670 The Score.
SCOUTING DEPAUL
DePaul (9-12, 3-7 BIG EAST) looks to Saturday as the Blue Demons prepare to take on their third top-25 opponent in their last four games. DePaul picked up its first top-25 win of the season in its last outing inside Wintrust Arena, with a 73-72 win against #8 Xavier on Jan. 18.
The Blue Demons continue to be led by the steady play of Umoja Gibson. Gibson is riding a ten-game streak of scoring 10 or more points, including three-straight of 15 or more. Gibson was named to the weekly BIG EAST honor roll after averaging 19 points last week against a pair of ranked opponents. The graduate student is fifth in the BIG EAST with 5.0 assists per game and leads the conference in steals.

Marquette leads the all-time series, 81-50, however, DePaul has won three of the last five meetings between the teams. DePaul holds the 34-32 advantage in home that included a 91-80 win inside Wintrust last season.

Marquette comes into Saturday's matchup with an 8-2 BIG EAST record, sitting at second in the conference standings. The Golden Eagles rank third in the country in field goal percentage (50.3) and are fifth nationally in assists per game (18.2). Tyler Kolek leads the BIG EAST and is third nationally with 7.9 assists per game.
Marquette is 3-2 on the road in BIG EAST play and winners of seven of their last eight games overall.
