DePaul earns three first place finishes

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - The DePaul track and field team concluded their first road meet of the 2023 calendar year.

Kindle Miles started off the second day of the Illini CHallenge with a first place finish in the women's shot put with a final distance of 13.08m. Noelle Malkamaki followed closely behind with a third place finish and a final mark of 12.81m.

The Blue Demons swept the top three spots of the women's 60m hurdles. Michaiah Thomas earned the first place finish with a time of 8.61. Isabella Hilditch finished in second with a time of 8.68 and Amberly Valeriano followed up in third with 8.69.

Darius Brown earned another first place finish in the men's 60m hurdles at the Illini Challenge with a time of 7.83.

Jordyn Showers finished the triple jump with two collegiate best distances of 11.35m and 11.45m. Showers earned a fourth place finish with the mark of 11.45m.

UP NEXT: The Blue Demons will be back in action on Friday, Feb. 3 at the Meyo Invitational hosted by the University of Notre Dame.
