DePaul and Marquette Renew Rivalry on Wednesday Night at Wintrust Arena

Blue Demons and Golden Eagles meet for 83rd time
CHICAGO – DePaul women's basketball closes out a six-game homestand on Wednesday evening when longtime rival Marquette travels to Chicago for a 7 p.m. tipoff inside Wintrust Arena. The 83rd all-time meeting between the two teams will be broadcast live on the BIG EAST Digital Network carried on FloSports with Matt Menzl, Patricia Babcock-McGraw and Kacy Standohar calling the action.

The Blue Demons enter the midweek matchup 10-5 and 3-1 in BIG EAST play after picking up a win over Providence before falling to then-No. 21 Creighton to close out 2022.
Aneesah Morrow, the reigning BIG EAST Player of the Week, has shined in her sophomore season, averaging 26.3 points per game while grabbing 11.9 rebounds per game. Morrow has posted 11 double-doubles on the season with her points average ranking fourth in the nation and rebounds good for eighth.
Darrione Rogers has taken a big step in her junior season improving her point production by nearly 10.0 points to 19.5 a game this season while dishing out 5.9 assists per game. Rogers' assists total (88) ranks third in the BIG EAST and 10th nationally.
Junior guard Kendall Holmes adds 10.3 points per game boasting a team-best three-point field goal percentage at .425. Against Creighton, Holmes shot five-for-six from downtown to record 15 points. Anaya Peoples and Jorie Allen round out the starting five and provide a great boost on the glass, providing 6.5 and 5.8 boards per game, respectively.
DePaul leads the BIG EAST in rebounds per game at 42.7 per game including nearly 16 a game on the offensive end of the floor which ranks 16th in Division I.
The Blue Demons are second among conference peers in scoring offense (79.1 ppg) and assists per game (16.6).
About Marquette
The Golden Eagles are 9-5 and 2-3 in league action after falling to Villanova and then-No. 8 Connecticut last week.
Senior guard Jordan King orchestrates the offense for Marquette with a team-best 14.5 points per game to go along with 3.7 assists per game. Chloe Marotta and Liza Karlen provide a physical interior presence for the Golden Eagles, averaging 8.0 and 7.6 rebounds, respectively while both totaling double figures in the scoring column.
As a team, Marquette is allowing just 57.6 points per game this season which ranks second amongst BIG EAST programs with just one opponent scoring more than 80 points.
Head coach Megan Duffy is in her fourth season leading the Golden Eagles program.
Series Stuff
Through 82 meetings between the two programs, the Blue Demons hold a 49-33 edge over the Golden Eagles including a 31-7 edge in games played in Chicago.
A season ago, the two teams split the regular-season series with the home team prevailing each time. The last matchup saw DePaul fall to Marquette in the BIG EAST Quarterfinals at Mohegan Sun Arena.
