DePaul Looks Ahead to Long Beach State

CHICAGO – DePaul men's basketball returns to the court Saturday, Nov. 11 for a Veteran's Day matchup against Long Beach State. Tip is set for 9 p.m. CT on FS2 with Dickey Simpkins and Lane Grindle on the call.
DePaul will celebrate Salute to Service Saturday evening, honoring those who have served. Fans can pick up a DePaul camo hat when entering the arena, while supplies last.
SCOUTING DEPAUL
DePaul looks to rebound following Tuesday's season opener against Purdue Fort Wayne. Chico Carter Jr. impressed in his Blue Demon debut with a team-high 18 points on 5-of-11 shooting. The graduate student also tallied a career-high eight rebounds in addition to two assists. A total of four DePaul players recorded double-digit scoring.
Jeremiah Oden matched Carter Jr. for a game-high eight rebounds in his Depaul debut, in addition to 13 points. K.T. Raimey rounded out the career performances with a personal-best 11 points and three three-pointers.
THE SERIES
Saturday marks the first ever meeting for two programs, DePaul's second-straight game of such. DePaul is 7-1 all-time against current Big West schools.
SCOUTING LONG BEACH STATE
Long Beach State (0-1) opens their season with an eight-game road trip. The Beach dropped their season opener against Portland, 78-73.
As a team, Long Beach State returned all five starters from a year ago, including Big West Newcomer of the Year, Lassina Traore. In 2022-23, The Beach went 17-16 overall and 11-9 in conference play. The Beach is led by head coach Dan Monson who is in his 17th season at Long Beach State and holds a 254-257 record at the school.
