Three Blue Demons reach double figure kills for sixth time this season
VILLANOVA, PA. - DePaul volleyball kicked off the penultimate weekend of BIG EAST play with a 3-1 win (25-16, 23-25, 25-19, 25-19) over Villanova, Friday night.
DePaul (14-12, 7-8 BIG EAST) had three players eclipse double figure kills. Jill Pressly led the way on Friday, tallying 20 kills and 17 digs for her 39th career double-double and 14th of the season. Audrey Klemp and Hanna Karl each poured in 10 kills each. Karl also recorded 14 digs for her first double-double of the season and seventh of her career.
Bailey Nelson and Aly Kindelberger recorded six terminations each. Kindelberger, alongside Klemp, led the team in blocks as both totaled four on the night.
Senior libero Rachel Krasowski ended the match with 26 digs, her 22nd match of the season in double-figures. Ashley Cudiamat led the team in assists with 29, while Maggie Jones chipped in 19.Â
The Blue Demons recorded eight service aces, as Pressly chipped in three and Cudiamat added two.
"Really important win in a tough gym," said head coach Marie Zidek. "It took tough serving to limit the amount of good situations and middle sets, wearing a couple on defense and then getting a transition swing, and then winning the pressure points. Everyone at some point stepped up tonight. Keeps us in the postseason hunt. Really cool team effort."Â
Villanova (16-11, 7-8 BIG EAST) was led by Abby Harrell with 14 kills and 14 digs. Â
