Blue Demons prepare for final road matches
CHICAGO - DePaul volleyball hits the road for the final road matches of the regular season, taking on Villanova and Georgetown. The Blue Demons will take on the Wildcats on Friday, Nov. 9 at 5 p.m. CT and the Georgetown Hoyas on Saturday, Nov. 10 at 4 p.m CT.
"One of the best conference match weekends is the Villanova - Georgetown weekend, and this year is no exception," said head coach Marie Zide. "Villanova is riding their veteran core in Campos, Booth, Barber and Homer who are really doing a great job allowing their freshman pins to play loose and free. We anticipate them to play well in their home gym and know it will take winning long rallies over and over again to get them. Georgetown has a similar narrative with Wilhite and Goyena really providing stability for their younger players to go for it. Their middles and libero make them tough to beat and it will take a balanced attack and stealing kills away from them to win. Both of these teams are in the postseason hunt with us and both stand in our way of a postseason berth, so there's a layer of pressure on these matches that a competitor salivates for, and we are excited to get to first serve."
