Anaya Peoples posts team-high 21 points, Gilbert and Allen post 16 and 13, respectively
CHICAGO – A slow start and a sluggish finish didn't do DePaul much good in a 66-62 setback to Georgetown on Sunday afternoon at Wintrust Arena.
The Blue Demons trailed by 10 after the first quarter, but rallied to take a three-point edge at the half, before being outscored 17-9 in the fourth to allow the Hoyas to close out the victory.
A trio of Blue Demons combined for 50 of DePaul's 62 points as Anaya Peoples led the way with 21 points in addition to four rebounds, four assists and five steals. Peoples has reached 20 or more points on eight occasions this season.
Katlyn Gilbert added 16 points to go with six boards while Jorie Allen flirted with a triple double on 13 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists. Allen recorded a double double for the first time in the 2023-24 campaign and the second time in her career.
As a team, the Blue Demons totaled 13 steals, marking the fifth-straight performance with 10 or more takeaways.
DePaul's 62 points were the most Georgetown has allowed in a game this season, while also serving as the lowest output on the year for the Blue Demons. The Hoyas came into Thursday's matchup with the third-best scoring defense in the country at 48.1 points per game.
Kelsey Ransom led the Hoyas with a game-high 23 points in addition to seven rebounds and eight assists.
