CHICAGO – DePaul women's basketball will host No. 4/5 Connecticut in its regular season home finale on Saturday, Feb. 25 at Wintrust Arena. Tipoff time is slated for 1 p.m. with coverage on FOX. Former Blue Demon great Sarah Kustok will be on the call alongside Lisa Byington. Single-game tickets are still available here.
About DePaul
The Blue Demons are 15-14 on the season and 8-10 in league action after narrowly dropping a 67-64 decision to No. 15 Villanova on Tuesday.
Against the Wildcats, DePaul trimmed down what was once a 19-point third-quarter lead to just one behind sophomore Aneesah Morrow's huge performance with game-highs of 29 points and 19 rebounds. Darrione Rogers finished with 17 points with 15 coming in the second half.
Morrow is the lone player in the country averaging 25+ points and 12+ rebounds at 25.7 and 12.3, respectively. The Chicago native's 23 double-doubles on the season rank third in Division I.
Collectively, the Blue Demons lead the BIG EAST in rebounds at 41.4 per game and are 12th nationally in offensive boards with 15.5 per contest.
DePaul will honor seniors Keke Rimmer and Nazlah Morrow prior to Saturday's contest.
About UConn
The fourth-ranked Huskies enter Saturday's matinee matchup 24-5 on the season and 16-2 in BIG EAST play. Last time out, UConn fell 69-64 to St. John's on Tuesday at the XL Center.
Fairfield transfer Lou Lopez Senechal leads the Huskies with 16.4 points per game while connecting from deep at a 45-percent clip. Junior forward Aaliyah Edwards has had a breakout year, posting 16.2 points and 9.0 rebounds per game while shooting just over 57-percent from the field.
As a team, UConn is fifth in the nation in assists per game (18.8) third in field goal percentage (50.1) and ninth in rebound margin (+10.2).
The Series
Connecticut owns a 22-1 advantage in the all-time series between the two programs and have won the last 22 meetings including a 94-51 decision in Storrs on Jan. 23.
Up Next
DePaul will conclude its regular season with a short trip up Interstate 94 for a meeting with Marquette on Monday, February 27 at 8 p.m. with coverage on FS1.
Fan Information
Due to several convention center, arena, and hotel events taking place simultaneously on the McCormick Place campus this weekend, fans should expect heavy traffic and extremely limited parking availability for Saturday's DePaul women's basketball game versus UCONN.
Fans are encouraged to use public transportation and rideshare options to travel to the game as well as arrive early to avoid delays. Doors to Wintrust Arena will open at 11:30 a.m. with the game slated for a 1 p.m. tipoff.
Parking spaces on Level 3 of Lot A will be held until tipoff (1 p.m.) for DePaul women's basketball season parking permit holders. After tipoff, parking spaces will not be guaranteed for permit holders. Please note, it is unlikely that Lot A parking will be available for game day purchase for non-permit holders. Fans should seek parking options at nearby lots or consider public transportation and rideshare options.
