DePaul Falls to Tulsa

Women’s tennis drops Saturday matchup
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The DePaul women's tennis team fell in their weekend finale to the Tulsa Golden Hurricanes, 4-0.Â
Tulsa won the first doubles match of the day, as Maddie Yergler and Valentina Martin fell, 6-0. The Blue Demons battled back to earn a win in the second doubles match when Greta Carbone and Hannah Smith teamed up for the 6-2 victory. Tulsa won the decisive doubles matchup on the No. 1 court for the 1-0 lead. It was the second doubles win of the season for Carbone/Smith.
Tulsa went on to win the first four singles matches, suspending play with the remaining two courts still in action. Lenka Antonijevic earned a 6-2 win in her first set and was leading her second set, 4-2, prior to suspension of play. Valentina Martin held an early lead over her opponent after a 6-3 win in the first set before suspension of the match occurred.Â
UP NEXT:Â The Blue Demons will have a week of play off before hosting their first home match of the season. DePaul will welcome the Toledo Rockets to XS Tennis Village on Saturday, Feb. 11 at 1:30 p.m.
