DePaul Faces Villanova in Midweek Road Matchup

VILLANOVA, PA. – In its second-straight road game, the DePaul men's basketball team is set to matchup against Villanova, Wednesday, Feb. 8 at 7:30 p.m. C.T. Fans can watch the game on FS1 with Dave Sims and Jim Spanarkel on the call.
SCOUTING DEPAUL
DePaul (9-15, 3-10 BIG EAST) looks to snap a five-game skid and win its first game at Villanova since 2007. The Blue Demons have played four ranked opponents in their last six games, with the team's last victory coming Jan. 18 against No. 8 Xavier. DePaul handed the Musketeers their first conference loss and are one of two BIG EAST teams to defeat Xavier.
Umoja Gibson comes into Wednesday's game scoring 20 or more points in four of his last six appearances. Gibson did all he could to try to help DePaul come back on the road against Seton Hall, scoring 15 points in the final seven minutes of the game. Gibson is averaging 16 points per game and leads the BIG EAST with a 40.5 three-point percentage.
THE SERIES
In the first meeting between the two teams this season, DePaul came away with a 75-65 victory for its first win against Villanova since 2008. The win snapped a 22-game losing streak in the series which was the second longest all-time in the BIG EAST and longest active streak among power conferences. The 10-point win was also the largest win all-time for DePaul in the series.
Villanova continues to lead the all-time series, 32-9. Five of DePaul's all-time wins in the series came on the road.

Villanova comes into Wednesday's game with a 10-13 record, coming off three-straight games against some of the top-ranked teams in the BIG EAST. The Wildcats dropped games against Providence, Marquette and Creighton – with all three being decided by single-digits.
The Wildcats have been led in scoring by Caleb Daniels who is averaging 16 points per game, while Eric Dixon leads the rebounding efforts with 6.6. Senior guard Justin Moore made his season debut for Villanova against Providence after recovering from an Achilles injury.
