Brown and Hopf to Compete at USTAF Outdoor Championships

EUGENE, Ore. - DePaul track and field standouts, Darius Brown and Jaiah Hopf, are set to compete at the 2023 USA Track and Field Championships. The event kicks off on Thursday, July 6. Fans can watch the action here.
Hopf kicks off action in the women's U20 triple jump Friday, July 7 at 5 p.m. CT, while Brown will participate in the men's 100m hurdles quarterfinals on July 8 at 7:37 p.m. CT. Should Brown advance out of the quarterfinals he would return to action Sunday, July 9 at 4:02 p.m. CT for a chance to qualify for the finals at 5:53 p.m. CT.
The duo have both made big names for themselves early in their collegiate career. Hopf, a freshman, qualified for the NCAA West Regional after ranking 44th in the women's triple jump. The freshman broke DePaul's standing triple jump record at the Black and Gold Invite with a 12.59m.
Brown holds the program outdoor 110mH and 400mH records, running a personal-best 13.62 during his sophomore campaign. Brown won a conference title in the 110mH at the 2023 BIG EAST Outdoor Championships with a time of 13.65. He went on to finish 13th at the NCAA West Regional, narrowly missing out on a NCAA qualification, after running 13.66.
