Blue Demon keeper leads the league in saves with 26
CHICAGO – For the second time in his career, junior Gandhi Cruz has been named BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week as announced by the league on Monday afternoon.

In a 0-0 draw at Bowling Green on Friday, Cruz put up another stellar performance, matching his season-high with seven saves. The Aurora, Ill. native recorded his second shutout of the campaign and 10th of his career.

Through five matches, Cruz has totaled 26 saves to lead all conference keepers.

The Blue Demons return to action on Friday, Sept. 15 with the BIG EAST Opener at Xavier. Kick off is slated for 6 p.m. CT with coverage on FloFC.
