Meghan Scholz Named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week, Klemp Earns Honor Roll Nod

Scholz earns first weekly honor of career
CHICAGO - DePaul volleyball middle blocker Meghan Scholz was named the BIG EAST Freshman of the Week while pin hitter Audrey Klemp earned a spot on the Weekly Honor Roll, as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon.
Scholz started all three matches of the DePaul Invitational, earning 16 blocks throughout nine sets (1.7 per set). The Tomahawk, Wis. native added 11 kills throughout the weekend of play. Scholz had six blocks in the home opener sweep of Northern Illinois and now leads the conference in blocks at 1.25 per set (25 total). This is Scholz's first weekly award of her career.Â
Klemp earned a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for the second consecutive week after a tournament performance that included 36 kills with a hitting percentage of .388 through three matches. The graduate student had 12 kills on 18 attempts against Northern Illinois on Thursday and added 15 kills against Evansville on Saturday. Klemp added three blocks throughout the weekend en route to being named the MVP of the DePaul Invitational.Â
