Blue Demons to host Bluejays before traveling to Golden Eagles
CHICAGO – DePaul (9-4, 2-0 BIG EAST) is set for its second weekend of conference action, hosting No. 14 Creighton at McGrath-Phillips Arena on Saturday, Oct. 4, at 1 p.m. Saturday serves as the program's Dig Pink match, in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The Blue Demons then travel north to Milwaukee, Wis., to face the Marquette Golden Eagles, who received 18 votes in the most recent AVCA poll. First serve from the Al McGuire Center is slated for 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 5. Both matches will stream on ESPN+.
"Our schedule continues to match us with teams that highlight exactly where we're trying to grow," said head coach Marie Zidek.
"Creighton plays with impressive consistency, doesn't give away many easy points and are excellent at protecting quality in first touch. Those just happen to be the areas we've been emphasizing, so what a perfect chance to improve by facing a team that does it so well. Add to that a Marquette squad playing with great confidence and we're in for a weekend full of challenges that will stretch us in all the right ways. I'm genuinely excited to see how this next chapter shapes our group. In a season where every BIG EAST match counts, our focus is ensuring each one strengthens our team and our program."
