
DePaul Posts Near-Perfect Day at Bowling Green Dynamic Duo

Blue Demons post 14-2 record on day one of first fall event
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – DePaul women's tennis started off the 2023 fall season with a bang, as the Blue Demons posted a cumulative 14-2 record on day one of the Bowling Green Dynamic Duo.
Head coach Marisa Arce and her Blue Demons buzzed through the Round of 32 in the Dynamic Duo. Each pair of teammates competed as a duo in a doubles match, and then individually against the same duo in two singles matches. All three DePaul pairs combined to post perfect 3-0 records to furiously advance in the draw.Â
Juniors Eleanor Nobbs and Eva Goncharov teamed up to take down Bowling Green's Lucy Furness and Hannah Neuman in the Round of 32 before advancing to knock off Sydney Stone and Elizabeth Sobieski of Valparaiso in the Round of 16 doubles match.
Hannah Smith and Greta Carbone powered through Kuszynski and Moutama from Toledo with Smith sealing the deal in the second-set tiebreak of her singles match. Â The duo kept the momentum rolling in the Round of 16 doubles match, with an 8-6 victory over Bowling Green's Saraty and Tsadari.
Veteran duo Yuliya Kizelbasheva and Emily Casati made quick work of Miami of Ohio's Joyce and Valentinsson, toppling the pair 8-1 in the doubles match. The pair advanced in the draw and continued their success with a 8-7 (7-3) decision over Eliska Masarikova and Yeseniia Ovcharova of Youngstown State.
Returning from injury, graduate student Mayya Perova paired with Jone Ibanez of Toledo for the weekend event. The duo fell in both doubles matches, but prevailed in singles as Perova defeated Sarah Dev, 7-6 (10-8), 3-6 [10-8].
Action from Keefe Courts is set to resume at 9 a.m. CT on Saturday morning with Round of 16 singles matches on deck.
