Blue Demons and Ramblers meet for 42nd time
CHICAGO – DePaul men's soccer returns home to Wish Field for its penultimate non-conference matchup of the campaign on Tuesday, Sept. 19 when Loyola Chicago visits Lincoln Park. First touch is set for 2 p.m. with live coverage on FloFC.

Setting the Scene
- The Blue Demons returns home to Wish Field with a 1-3-2 record in tow.
- DePaul is 1-1-1 in home matches this season, including a 1-0 victory over Lindenwood in the season opener, a narrow 1-0 defeat to Bradley and a 1-1 draw against Northwestern.
- Callum Watts and Colin Mackey are responsible for DePaul's goals on the season, while the Blue Demons have also been credited with a team goal. Watts scored the game-winner over Lindenwood and Mackey found the back of the net for the first time in his first career with a strike against Northwestern.
- Noeh Hernandez leads the Blue Demons in shots with 12 and four on goal while Watts has registered seven. Felipe Corral follows with six while Diego Benitez, Marek Gonda, and Colin Mackey have each fired five shots.
- Gandhi Cruz ranks seventh in the nation in saves with 35 while his saves per game clip of 5.83 is good for 10th in the country.
- Seven Blue Demons have made their DePaul debut this fall including Watts and Hernandez alongside Christian Baumgartner, Keagan Pace, Liam Mullins, Alex Peters and Jordan Clagette.
- The Blue Demons are coming off a 4-1 setback to Xavier in their BIG EAST conference opener on Friday, Sept. 15.
- The Musketeers scored two goals in a 59-second span to take a 2-0 advantage in the first half before a Xavier-own goal trimmed the deficit to a goal just before halftime. XU put in two more goals in the second half to put the game out of reach.
- Noeh Hernandez had a pair of shots including one on frame, while goalkeeper Gandhi Cruz totaled a season-high nine saves.
- The Ramblers enter the match 4-1-1 on the season, coming off of a pair of shutout victories last week.
- Loyola has outscored opponents 13-4 through six matches.
- Senior forward Oscar Dueso has a team-best nine points including three goals.
- Redshirt-freshman goalkeeper has earned all four wins between the pipes, making nine saves.
- Head coach Steve Bode is in his second season leading the program in Rogers Park.
- Tuesday's matchup marks the 42nd consecutive meeting between the two programs, dating back to 1981. Loyola leads the series 22-14-5.
- DePaul's last win in the series came in October 12, 2013 while the Blue Demons most recent victory at Wish Field was in September of 2012.
- Last season, the Ramblers claimed a 3-1 win in Rogers Park. Marek Gonda scored DePaul's lone goal of the contest.
