Scholz Named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week for Second Straight Week

The freshman leads conference in blocks
CHICAGO - DePaul volleyball middle blocker Meghan Scholz was named the BIG EAST Freshman of the Week for the second consecutive week on Monday, as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon.
Scholz tallied 17 blocks during a three-match week that included two road matches, averaging 1.70 blocks per set. She earned starts in all three matches and added 16 kills, six of which came against Loyola Chicago when she recorded a .600 hitting percentage.Â
The Tomahawk, Wis. native also recorded the first two service aces of her career, both coming against Chicagoland rivals. The freshman leads the conference in blocks (1.4 per set) and ranks 21st in the country and second among freshmen.
