Jade Dudley-Epps adds match-best 11 kills in defeat
WASHINGTON, D.C – DePaul volleyball fell to Georgetown 3-0 (25-23, 25-18, 25-23) Saturday evening, dropping to 12-9 overall, including 5-5 in BIG EAST matches. Georgetown improves to 13-10 overall and 6-4 in league play.

Abby Cahill anchored the DePaul defense with 12 digs on the night. Cahill, Timme and Morgan Stewart also added a pair of service aces each.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
SET ONE
The sides were even early, until a 4-0 scoring run gave the Blue Demons a narrow two-point advantage. Georgetown immediately responded with a 6-0 run of its own, propelled by a trio of kills from Grace Albaugh. DePaul fought back to take seven of the next points, paced by three kills from Timme, but it was one final 4-0 run from the Hoyas that won the set, 25-23.
SET TWO
The teams traded points to begin the second frame, but it was a 4-0 run from the Hoyas that put them in front, 10-6. DePaul rebounded with two aces from Stewart and a kill from Katelynn Oxley, knotting the set at 13 points. Neither side could pull away until Georgetown tallied a pair of 3-0 runs, led by kills from Samantha Soderlund and Katherine McGregor. A final Albaugh kill sealed the set victory for Georgetown, 25-18.
SET THREE
The third set proved to be the tightest battle throughout. DePaul opened with a 3-0 run, but the Hoyas quickly closed the gap, and the sides traded points the rest of the way. Meghan Scholz checked in, contributing five kills and a block for the Blue Demons, while McGregor added five kills of her own for Georgetown. A late 3-0 run put the Hoyas ahead, and they won the set, 25-23, with a kill from Soderlund.
