CHICAGO – DePaul men's soccer is set to welcome Creighton for a BIG EAST Conference matchup on Saturday, Sept. 23. Action from Wish Field is set to get underway at 1 p.m. The Blue Demons will celebrate its annual Alumni Day, welcoming back letterwinners from the previous 40 seasons of Division I soccer in Lincoln Park.

Setting the Scene
- The Blue Demons are looking to return to the win column after going without a victory since the season opener.
- Last time out, DePaul fell to local rival 4-2, despite being tied at the half. Michael Anderson put DePaul out in front early before the Ramblers knotted the score shortly after. Redshirt freshman Christian Baumgartner fired another goal through on a set piece to give the Blue Demons the advantage once again, but Loyola answered to tie the score 2-2 at half. Playing a man down for the last 55 minutes, DePaul surrendered a pair of Loyola goals and ultimately dropped the match.
- Baumgartner leads the Blue Demons with three points on the season, after a goal and an assist versus Loyola Chicago.
- Freshman forward Noeh Hernandez paces DePaul's offensive attack with 14 shots including four on frame. Felipe Corral and Baumgartner have fired off six shots apiece.
- Junior goalkeeper Gandhi Cruz ranks among the nation's best goalkeepers, ranking eighth in saves per game at 5.86 and fifth in total saves with 42.
- Iron Blue Demons – three Blue Demons have started and seen action in all seven matches this season including Anderson, Cruz and center back Ethan Gordon. Gordon and Cruz have played out all 630 minutes.
- Creighton comes to Chicago with a 2-3-3 record to boot after most recently battling to a 0-0 draw in non-conference action at Tulsa on Tuesday.
- The Bluejays, ranked eighth nationally in the preseason, opened BIG EAST play with a 2-1 victory over then-No. 13 Marquette back on Sept. 15.
- Alfie Pope leads Creighton with four goals on the campaign, totaling eight points. On the season, six different players have found the back of the net.
- Last season, CU went 13-5-6 en route to a BIG EAST Tournament Title and run to the 2023 College Cup.
- Johnny Torres is in his fifth season at the helm in Omaha.
- The two teams will meet for the 15th time on Saturday afternoon with Creighton leading the all-time series 12-2-0.
- Last season, the Bluejays claimed a 3-0 victory in Omaha, Neb.
- The Blue Demons most recent win in the series came at home in 2021 with a 1-0 decision at Wish Field.
