Hernandez Called Up to Puerto Rican National Team for Nations League Matches

Blue Demon freshman earns second call up to team Puerto Rico
CHICAGO – DePaul men's soccer forward Noeh Hernandez has been called up to the Puerto Rican National Team for the federations upcoming CONCACAF Nations League Matches, Sept. 9 and 12.
This marks the second call up for the Blue Demon freshman after Hernandez joined El Huracán Azul for the team's first ever appearance in the Gold Cup in June.
"Being called up to the Puerto Rican national team for soccer is a tremendous honor for me, as it represents the culmination of years of hard work and dedication to the sport," said Hernandez. "I am incredibly proud to represent my country on the international stage and am most looking forward to the opportunity to showcase my skills, contribute to the team's success, and foster national pride in the upcoming pair of Nation League matches."
Puerto Rico will begin Group B competition against Bahamas on Saturday, Sept. 9 before drawing Antigua and Barbuda on Tuesday, Sept. 12. Both matches will be hosted at Thomas Robinson Stadium in Nassau, Bahamas.
"We are incredibly proud of Noeh for this opportunity. He was in great form over the summer and gained valuable experience being a part of the team for Gold Cup Qualifiers. Noeh has continued that form here at DePaul and has made an immediate impact on our program" said head coach Mark Plotkin. "We will miss having him next week but could not be more excited for him to represent Puerto Rico in the Nations League."
Hernandez is expected to miss DePaul's match versus Bowling Green on Sept. 8 and rejoin the program for the BIG EAST opener at Xavier on Sept. 15.
