Blue Demons and Falcons meet for second-consecutive season
CHICAGO – DePaul hits the road for its first of two consecutive road matches on Friday, Sept. 7 with a contest against Bowling Green at Cochrane Stadium. First touch is set for 6 p.m. CT with coverage found on YouTube here.

Setting the Scene
- DePaul enters its fifth of seven non-conference matches with a 1-2-1 mark.
- The Blue Demons drew with local rival, Northwestern, 1-1 on Monday.
- Colin Mackey scored the first goal of his collegiate career against the Wildcats to put the Blue Demons in front 1-0. Northwestern found the equalizer late in the game off of a corner kick.
- Keagan Pace notched the first assist of his career in just his second collegiate game on a header to tee up Mackey's goal.
- Freshman forward Noeh Hernandez was called up to the Puerto Rican National Team for the second time in three months, the federation announced last week. Hernandez and Puerto Rico will compete in a pair of Nations League matches in Nassau, Bahamas Sept. 9 and 12.
- Hernandez has led DePaul's offense with 10 shots on the young campaign including three on frame.
- Callum Watts, Marek Gonda and Diego Benitez have registered five shots apiece.
- Goalkeeper Gandhi Cruz has made 19 saves through four matches in 2023.
A Look at the Falcons
- Bowling Green enters the match 2-1-1 after taking down Michigan 2-1 on Labor Day.
- Andrew Shaffer, Kyle Cusimano and Eli Shope each have two goals apiece to lead the Bowling Green attack.
- The Falcons' lone loss came to Michigan State, 3-0.
- BGSU welcomed back 11 letterwinners from a 2022 season that saw the Falcons go 6-5-5. 14 newcomers joined the fold this fall.
- Eric Nichols is in his 15th season leading the Falcons program.
Series Stuff
- Friday marks the sixth all-time matchup between the two teams and second in as many years
- The Falcons lead the series 4-0-1
- A season ago at Wish Field, the two squads fought to a scoreless draw.
- The last time the two teams met in Bowling Green was in September of 1999.
