Blue Demons Head Back on Road Friday Evening

CHICAGO – The DePaul men's basketball team returns to the east coast for its third road game in the last four matchups, Friday evening as they take on Villanova. The game is slated for a 7:30 p.m. CT tip on FS1 with John Fanta and Jim Spanarkel on the call. Zach Zaidman and Dave Corzine will have the radio call on DePaulBlueDemons.com and the Blue Demons app.
SCOUTING DEPAUL
DePaul (3-12, 0-4 BIG EAST) dropped its first home game of the 2024 season Tuesday evening against #22 Creighton. The Blue Demons were led in scoring by Da'Sean Nelson and Jaden Henley, each with 12 points. Henley is averaging 11.0 points, 3.5 assists per game and 3.0 rebounds in BIG EAST play, second on the Blue Demons roster behind Nelson.
Chico Carter Jr. remains DePaul's leading scorer this season, averaging 11.9 points per game on 38.5 percent three-point shooting. Carter Jr. enters Friday evening's game 10 points shy of 1,000 in his career.
THE SERIES
Villanova leads the all-time series 34-9, including a 84-48 win earlier this season in Chicago. The Wildcats have won 23 of the last 24 meetings against DePaul, and have not lost in the series at home since 2007.
In the earlier meeting this season, Villanova shot 54.5 percent as a team from three and was led by a 20-point performance off the bench from Hakim Hart.
SCOUTING VILLANOVA
Villanova (10-5, 3-1 BIG EAST) dropped their first conference game of the season earlier this week against St. John's despite a 23-point performance by TJ Bamba. The Wildcats shot just 21.4 percent from three against St. John's, their second lowest behind-the-arc from the season.
Eric Dixon leads the Wildcats with 14.7 points and 2.4 offensive rebounds per game. As a team, Villanova ranks second nationally in free throw percentage (81.3) and second in the BIG EAST in three pointers per game.
