The Blue Demons Complete First Indoor Meet of 2024

CHICAGO – DePaul track and field completed the Badger Midwest Invite Saturday afternoon, headlined by first-place performances from Eveline Reno and Alex Bernstein.

The meet opened with the men's weight throw and women's high jump. Bernstein earned gold and a new personal best in the men's weight throw with a final mark of 20.22m. Bernstein's 20.22m marked the indoor mark from a DePaul athlete since Trevor Kintyhtt in 2017 (21.05m). Reno earned her first-place finish in the women's high jump, matching her personal-best with a final mark of 1.71m.

On the oval, Jason Gould captured a third-place finish in the men's 800m with a final time of 1:58.43. Kash Allen rounded out today's top-three finishers, earning silver in the women's shot put and setting a new personal best, 14.81m.

Patrick Diakite added to the DePaul finishers with new personal bests, doing so in the men's high jump with a mark of 1.96m.

In the women's 1 mile, Madison Volz shed 12 seconds off her previous best with a new time of 5:03.37 and a seventh-place finish. Griffin Lehnhardt earned a 13th-place finish in the men's 1 mile and a new personal best time of 4:29.85.
