DePaul Hosts Friars Wednesday Evening

CHICAGO – DePaul men's basketball returns home to Wintrust Arena for a Wednesday night tilt against Providence. The game is slated for an 8 p.m. CT tip on FS1 with Chris Vosters and Nick Bahe on the call. Zach Zaidman and Dave Corzine will have the radio broadcast on 670 The Score and DePaulBlueDemons.com.
SCOUTING DEPAUL
DePaul (3-13, 0-5 BIG EAST) returns home after a stretch of three of the team's last four games on the road. The Blue Demons strength of schedule remains one of the strongest in the country, ranking 23rd nationally.
Da'Sean Nelson's strong play in BIG EAST action has continued as he averages 16.2 points per game this season against conference foes. Nelson ranks fourth among all BIG EAST players in conference games with a 55.6 field goal percentage and his scoring ranks eighth. Nelson scored 20 points last weekend on the road against Villanova, shooting 7-of-12 from the floor. He has notched double-digit scoring efforts in every conference game this season and in 18 of his 26 conference games played in his career.
THE SERIES
Providence leads the all-time series, 38-13, including a 15-8 record in Chicago. The Blue Demons last win against the Friars came in the BIG EAST Tournament in 2021.
SCOUTING PROVIDENCE
Providence (11-6, 2-4 BIG EAST) comes into Wednesday's game searching for their first road win of the season. The Friars started BIG EAST play with back-to-back wins against #6 Marquette and Butler, before dropping their last four.
Devin Carter leads Providence with 17.8 points per game, 8.6 rebounds and 3.2 assists. Carter ranks 16th nationally in defensive rebounds per game, averaging 7.31. As a team, Providence thrives on its defensive efforts as they lead the BIG EAST in field goal percentage defense (.397) and rank 34th nationally in the same category.
