Blue Demons Fall to Nebraska in Early-Season Contest

LINCOLN, NEB. – DePaul women's tennis battled the Nebraska Cornhuskers in the second match of the season but ultimately fell 7-0 on Friday evening at the Dillon Tennis Center.

Freshman Sasha Stula and sophomore Hannah Smith each claimed first-set victories at No. 1 and No. 2 singles respectively and moved to a tiebreaker in their matches, but couldn't tally a win on their courts.

DePaul (0-2) continued to display a resilient effort through No. 6 singles as graduate student Emily forced a tiebreaker in each of her two sets against Lucy Loy (NEB) in a 7-6 (7-5), 7-6 (7-4) setback.

In doubles action, the tandem of Greta Carbone and Hannah Smith secured a victory on Court Two for the Blue Demons, 6-3 over Anfisa Danilchenko/Ana Zamburek. The duo moved to 10-3 on the 2023-24 campaign.
