Men’s Soccer Visits Creighton on Friday Night

CHICAGO – DePaul men's soccer hits the road for the first time in BIG EAST play for a matchup at Creighton on Friday, Oct. 4. First touch from Morrison Stadium is set for 6:00 p.m.

Demon Doings

The Blue Demons head into the heart of conference play unbeaten in their last two matches with a 3-4-2 overall mark and 0-1-1 record in BIG EAST action.
Last time out, DePaul battled to a 0-0 draw with Xavier to earn a crucial point in the league standings.
A pair of Blue Demons were named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday as Noeh Hernandez and Santiago Davila claimed league accolades after leading the program to an unbeaten week. Hernandez strung together a four-point performance in DePaul's 3-1 victory over Loyola while Davila turned in a career-high nine saves against the Ramblers followed by the first clean sheet of his career against the Musketeers.
DePaul exits the Chicagoland area for just the second time in 2024 after playing five home matches and three road games against local foes. The last out of state outing came against St. Thomas on August 29, a 1-1 draw.
With 18 goals on the season, DePaul ranks second in the BIG EAST in scoring offense and top-35 nationally. The Blue Demons are one goal away from tying their season output from 2023.
11 unique goal scorers have found the back of the net in 2024, the most since the 2013 season when 13 different Blue Demons scored.
The Blue Demons have assisted on every goal scored this season with Hernandez totaling a BIG EAST-best six assists.
Hernandez's total assists and assists per game ranks eighth nationally and eighth in DePaul's single-season record book. His 12 points is good for fourth in the conference.
Forwards Keagan Pace and Logan Finnegan own eight and seven points, respectively.
Davila has played all 810 minutes in goal this season, making 34 saves through nine contets.

Creighton Notes

Creighton enters the matchup 4-3-3 on the season and 0-1-1 in conference play. The Bluejays are without a win in their last three matches by way of a 1-0 loss to Georgetown, a draw versus Providence and 1-0 decision to RV Missouri State on Tuesday.
Senior midfielder Jackson Castro paces Creighton with a team-best nine points on three goals and three assists.
Blake Gillingham owns a 1.30 goals against average through 900 minutes in net in 2024.
Head coach Johnny Torres is in his sixth season leading his alma mater.

Series Stuff

Friday's match will be the 16th meeting between the two programs, Creighton leads the all-time series 13-2.
A season ago, the Bluejays bested the Blue Demons 2-1 at Wish Field. Liam Mullins scored the first goal of his career in the meeting.
DePaul's most recent win in the series came in 2021, a 1-0 decision in Chicago.
A win would be the program's first against Creighton in Omaha.
