Demon Doings
DePaul (1-1) looks to bounce back after being handed its first loss of the season against Princeton, a 79-58 decision, on Saturday, Nov. 9.
After leading the Tigers by five after the first quarter, the visitors outscored the Blue Demons 44-19 in the next two periods to pull off the victory.
Graduate forward Jorie Allen was the bright spot, pouring in a game-high 19 points on 69-percent shooting while adding seven rebounds. Allen earned herself a spot on the season's first BIG EAT Weekly Honor Roll after averaging 20.0 points and 8.0 rebounds while shooting 65-percent from the floor in opening week.
Junior transfer Taylor Johnson-Matthews is also averaging double figures after the first two contests with 11.5 points per game.
The Blue Demons own a +9 margin on the glass for the season thanks in large part to outrebounding Mercyhurst 47-25 in the opener. On the glass, DePaul has corralled 30 offensive boards and converted that into 40 second-chance points compared to its opponents 13 offensive rebounds.
