Kindelberger explodes for career-high 22 kills
Villanova, Pa. – DePaul volleyball defeated the Villanova Wildcats 3-2 (23-25, 25-16, 25-23, 22-25, 15-11) Saturday evening, improving to 17-9 overall and 9-5 in conference play. The Wildcats fall to 14-11 overall, and 7-7 in BIG EAST matches.
For the first time this season, middle blocker Aly Kindelberger paced the Blue Demon offense, exploding for 22 kills at a .415 clip. Pin hitter Audrey Klemp also added 20 kills, boasting a match-leading hitting percentage of .472. Jill Pressly followed close behind with 17 kills and 13 digs, her 14th double-double of the year.
Pressly tallied her second consecutive match with five blocks, and middle blocker Katelynn Oxley earned a match-leading six blocks on the night.
Setter Ashley Cudiamat registered 35 assists and 17 digs for her 11th double-double of 2024, and second match with 30 or more assists. Fellow setter Amanda Saeger poured in 29 assists of her own.
Libero Rachel Krasowski propelled the DePaul defense with 27 digs, while sophomore Nora Mannion notched 14.
"To produce 78 kills versus a really good defensive team like Villanova is a testament to how this team is still growing this late in the season," said head coach Marie Zidek.
"We responded today after two tough losses and put ourselves back in control of our own destiny. Proud of this team's growth and the gears they reached for in this match. No one can take these experiences away; they are earned by competitors."
Freshman Taylor Lewis led the Wildcats with 16 kills on the night.

The Blue Demons never looked back, earning the set victory, 25-16, after two more kills from Klemp and three from Kindelberger.
SET THREE
The teams were knotted early, with neither squad pulling away until Villanova earned four quick points in the middle of the set, led by two Lewis kills. Kindelberger tallied consecutive kills to tie the set at 19, and DePaul went on a 3-0 run late, winning the set, 25-23.
