Blue Demons Fall Wednesday Night

CHICAGO – DePaul men's basketball team fell, 101-65, Wednesday evening at Wintrust Arena against No. 1 UConn. The Blue Demons were led by Jaden Henley with 15 points on 6-of-11 shooting. Henley was joined in double-digit scoring by K.T. Raimey and Elijah Fisher with 12 and 10, respectively.
Jalen Terry notched a career-high 10 assists in addition to seven points and five rebounds.
HOW IT HAPPENED
DePaul (3-21, 0-13 BIG EAST) opened the scoring with three early points from Churchill Abass. UConn (23-2, 13-1 BIG EAST) responded using a 21-4 run for a 15-point, 22-7, lead. The Blue Demons responded going 4-of-5 from the floor over a three minute stretch, but UConn remained in control with a 29-16 lead. The Huskies shot 54.8 percent in the first half to take a 23-point lead into halftime, after a three by Da'Sean Nelson at the buzzer.
The Blue Demons opened the second half with three-pointers from Henley and Terry, 59-37, but UConn's offense made it difficult for DePaul to narrow the gap. All seven of Terry's points and 11 of Henley's 15 came in the second half.
OF NOTE
- Terry extended his stretch to 13-consecutive games with a made three-pointer, which is the sixth longest active streak in the BIG EAST.
- Henley recorded double-figures for the ninth time this season.
- Raimey tied his personal best points scored against a conference opponent.
