Blue Demons and Pirates Clash on Saturday

DePaul and Seton Hall tipoff at 12 p.m. CST
SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – DePaul women's basketball makes its penultimate road trip of the regular season with a visit to Seton Hall on Saturday, Feb. 17 for the lone matchup between the two programs this season. Tipoff from Walsh Gymnasium is scheduled for 12 p.m. CST with the game covered on the BIG EAST Digital Network via FloHoops. Matt Ambrose and Chloe Marotta will handle the television responsibilities.
Noting the Blue Demons
With four games remaining in the regular season, the Blue Demons look to make a late season push in the league standings after dropping two in a row to Creighton and Marquette in the last two outings.
Against the Golden Eagles on Tuesday, DePaul trailed by as many as 23 in the third quarter before roaring back to cut the deficit to four with two minutes remaining in the fourth.
Jorie Allen led the scoring effort for the Blue Demons with 18 points on 80-percent shooting from the field. In the last five games, Allen is averaging 14.8 points per game, a +3.8 margin from her current season average.
Anaya Peoples continues to pace DePaul in points (17.7 ppg), rebounds (8.0 rpg) and assists (3.2 apg). Her scoring and rebounding averages rank sixth and fifth in the league, respectively.
Graduate student guard Katlyn Gilbert has been a defensive stalwart for DePaul, ranking top-20 in the nation in steals with 70 takeaways on the season.
As a team, DePaul ranks first in the BIG EAST in steals (10.3 spg), turnovers forced (18.1) and rebounds (38.6 rpg).
Scouting Seton Hall
The Pirates are 14-11 on the season and 6-8 in BIG EAST action after dropping a midweek contest to local foe St. John's, 68-57.
Seton Hall is pace by a pair of players in double figures with Azana Baines averaging a team-best 14.3 points per game and Micah Gray adding 12.0 of her own. Senior guard Amari Wright is posting 5.7 assists per game which ranks second in the conference.
Seton Hall's scoring defense is second among all teams in the league, allowing opponents to score just 57.5 points per game.
Tony Bozzella is in his 11th season leading the Pirates.
Series Stuff
DePaul has dominated the all-time series with the Pirates, 25-7. The two teams split last season's meetings, with each side defending their home court.
The Blue Demons are 11-2 in games played in South Orange.
