Anaya Peoples posts near triple double with 25 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists
SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – A decisive-second quarter which saw Seton Hall take a 19-point advantage was the difference as DePaul fell 91-78 inside Walsh Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon.
Anaya Peoples posted a near triple double in the setback with 25 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists to go with four steals. Saturday was Peoples' 24th game in double figures this season, fifth double-double and 12th 20-point game in 2023-24.
Graduate student guard Jade Edwards added a DePaul career-high 11 points on three three-point field goals in addition to three assists and two steals.
New Jersey native Michelle Sidor added nine points apiece on a trio of triples while Jorie Allen added nine points and eight rebounds.
DePaul totaled 18 assists on 29 made field goals while the bench produced 20 points on the afternoon.
Seton Hall (15-11, 7-8 BIG EAST) saw all five starters finish in double figures led by Micah Gray and Savannah Catalon who recorded 21 points apiece.
How it Happened
The two teams pushed pace early with the Blue Demons assisting on each of their first four field goals as the game was tied at 10 at the first media timeout. Each side shot over 40-percent in the first quarter, with Seton Hall holding a five-point edge after 10 minutes, 22-17.
The Pirates opened the second on a 12-4 run to widen their lead to 13 and force a DePaul timeout. A three from Brynn Masikewich ended a four-minute scoring drought for the Blue Demons. Consecutive defensive stops and consecutive threes from Gilbert and Edwards brought the visitors back within 12 before Seton Hall ended the half on a 9-2 run.
Masikewich and Peoples each totaled seven points apiece in the first half.
The third was evenly matched with the Pirates outscoring the Blue Demons, 18-17 to hold onto a 20-point lead heading into the final quarter. Peoples totaled six points and six boards in the period.
The Blue Demons picked up the pressure halfway through the fourth, forcing 11 Pirate turnovers in the period and converting that into 16 points, but it wasn't enough as Seton Hall held on for the win.

The Blue Demons will have a week to prepare for 15th-ranked UConn. The Huskies visit Wintrust Arena on Sunday, Feb. 25. Tipoff is slated for 5 p.m. CST on CBS Sports Network. Diana Vines (1985-89), DePaul's all-time leading scorer, will have her jersey retired pregame.
