Blue Demons Face Xavier On The Road

CINCINNATI – DePaul men's basketball heads back on the road to face Xavier, Wednesday, Feb. 28 in an evening matchup. The game is slated for a 6 p.m. CT tip on FS2 with Connor Onion and Nick Bahe on the call. Zach Zaidman and Dave Corzine will have the radio broadcast on DePaulBlueDemons.com.

DePaul (3-24, 0-16 BIG EAST) suffered a heart breaking 77-76 loss against Georgetown Saturday evening at home. The Blue Demons erased a 15-point first half deficit against the Hoyas, shooting 50 percent in the second half. DePaul had a trio of 16-point scorers from Da'Sean Nelson, Jalen Terry and Elijah Fisher.

Against the Hoyas, DePaul forced a season-high 12 steals which also marked the most for the program since Dec. 30, 2019 against Seton Hall.

Xavier (13-14, 7-9 BIG EAST) is coming off four-consecutive losses in BIG EAST play to Marquette, Providence, Seton Hall and Providence. The Musketeers rank fourth nationally with 16.44 fast break points per game and also rank among the nation's leaders with 16.5 assists per game. Individually, Quincy Olivari leads the Musketeers with 18.9 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game.

The all-time series between the two programs is led by Xavier, 20-13. The Musketeers won the earlier meeting this season in Chicago, 93-68, where they were led by a 43-point performance from Olivari. DePaul's last win against Xavier came Jan. 18, 2023 against the No. 8-ranked Musketeers. It marked the Blue Demons last regular season BIG EAST win entering Wednesday.

DePaul returns home where it will have back-to-back home games to conclude its slate at Wintrust Arena. The Blue Demons hots Butler Saturday, March 2 for an 11 a.m. CT tip on FS1.
