Blue Demons Outpaced in Second Half Against Xavier

CINCINNATI – Despite a strong first half, the DePaul men's basketball team was outpaced in the second for Xavier to come away with the win, 91-58, Wednesday evening in Cincinnati. Jalen Terry had a strong all-around game for DePaul (3-25, 0-17 BIG EAST) with 12 points, six assists and four rebounds. Elijah Fisher led the Blue Demons in scoring with 14 points on 5-of-9 shooting and a team-high six rebounds.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Xavier (14-14, 8-19 BIG EAST) controlled the game early, taking a 20-6 lead with 11 unanswered points. Jeremiah Oden ended DePaul's scoring drought on a three-pointer from the corner at the 10-minute mark. The Blue Demons offense cut down its turnovers and started connecting with a jumper by Oden, kick-starting a 14-2 DePaul run. Fisher capped off the run with a three-pointer, making it a 31-29 game with under two minutes to play in the half.
DePaul's offense opened the second half with a layup by Churchill Abass, before Xavier went on a scoring run. The Musketeers took an 11-0 run and never looked back, shooting 12-of-16 to open the period.

- Fisher notched his fifth-consecutive game with 10 or more points and 13th of his career.
- Terry extended his streak of 16-consecutive games with a made three-pointer, the longest streak for a DePaul player since Jalen Coleman-Lands in 2020.
- Abass had his fourth career game with three or more blocks.
