23 Blue Demons Earn All-BIG EAST Honors

DePaul brings home 26 medals from the 2024 BIG EAST Indoor Championships
CHICAGO – 23 Blue Demons earned All-BIG EAST honors as announced by the conference yesterday evening. The accolade was granted to track and field athletes who placed in the top-three in any individual or relay event at the 2024 BIG EAST Indoor Championships, Feb. 23-24.
On the field, Billie Martin was DePaul's first BIG EAST Champion, defending her title in the women's shot put with a final throw of 19.52m. Alex Bernstein earned his first-ever BIG EAST gold medal in the men's weight throw with a final throw of 21.00m.
Kash Allen placed first in the women's shot put, also earning her first-ever BIG EAST Indoor Championship title with a final mark of 15.02m. Jaiah Hopf achieved a season best after taking third and clearing a final mark of 12.19m in the women's triple jump.
On the oval, NCAA Indoor Track and Field qualifier Darius Brown, broke two records after placing first in the men's 60m hurdles, defeating the BIG EAST Indoor Championship and his old school record of 7.68 with a new final time of 7.63. Paul Goins placed third in the men's 60m hurdles championship with a final time of 8.07.
Brown also took home gold in the men's 4x400m relay. The Blue Demon teamed up with Charles Lewis, Daniel Fasasi and Jarel Terry for an incredible come from behind win in the men's 4x400m relay championship with a final time of 3:13.10. At the end of the meet, Brown was co-named Most Outstanding Track Performer for his achievements.
Olivia Borowiak placed second and defeated her school record in the 3000m championships with a final time of 9:15.67. Borowiak collected another silver medal in the women's DMR alongside Nina Amicon, Lauren Pacsi and Alexa Havon after achieving a final time of 11:27.31.
Havon also went home with two medals after teaming up with Isabella Orozco, Sonja Nagle and Meghan Dieball for the women's 4x800m relay championship. The squad earned third place with a final time of 8:50.42 topping DePaul's long-standing record from 2013 of 8:59.76.
On the men's side, Michael Ronzone, Joe Knanishu, Lucas Cunningham and Damian Rodriguez teamed up for the men's 4x800m relay coming in third with a final time of 7:33.24.
In the sprint events, Jetta Mays took third in the women's 200m with a final time of 24.36 while Dominic Cole took third in the same event on the men's side with a time of 21.57. In the women's 400m, Claire Dunn placed third and earned a new personal best with a final time of 55.23.
