DePaul moves to 3-0 against BIG EAST programs

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – DePaul women's tennis defeated Marquette 5-2, to remain undefeated at 3-0 in BIG EAST play, Friday night.

The Blue Demons (10-6) continued its winning ways improving to 21-4 in program history against the Golden Eagles. In doubles play, graduate students Emily Casati and Yuliya Kizelbasheva started with a 6-1 victory versus Davis/Windbuchler on court two to win their fifth in-a-row and hold a 16-6 overall record this season. At No. 1 doubles, Greta Carbone and Hannah Smith joined Casati/Kizelbasheva at 16 wins overall with a 6-3 triumph.

In singles action, junior Eleanor Nobbs picked up a quick point for the Blue Demons with 6-1, 6-2 advantage on court two. No. 3 Kizelbasheva notched a straight-set 6-2, 6-2 win to snap a three-game slide while on court five, Casati continued a torrid pace with her ninth-straight victory with a 6-2, 6-3 defeat of Andie Weise. Carbone improved to 7-3 in dual action besting Tiana Windbuchler on court four, 6-4, 6-3. .

Marquette (2-12) was able to pick up points on courts one and six in singles play. Marquette's Tiera Jarmond won a tiebreaker match in the no. 6 slot 6-7, 6-4, 10-3.
