Elwood Establishes New School Record

The Blue Demons close out day one of the Bryan Clay Invitational
CHICAGO – DePaul track and field closed out its first day of competition at the Bryan Clay Invitational Friday evening. Senior Tommy Elwood kick-started the meet with a school record break in the men's 5000m race.
Bright and early, Elwood broke DePaul's outdoor 5000m record set by his former teammate, Dominic Bruce just last year. The Blue Demon finished his race in 16th place overall with a final time of 14:13.80.
Freshman Isabella Orozco followed with the women's open 800m run, setting a new personal best record of 2:09.66. Senior Alexa Havon rounded out the day with the women's 800m invite, finishing with a final time of 2:10.46.
UP NEXT: 41 Blue Demons are set to compete in the University of Illinois' Gary Weineke Memorial meet beginning tomorrow at 11 a.m. CT, while four Blue Demons compete in day two of the Bryan Clay Invitational starting at 8:50 p.m. CT.
