Transfers Elena Opp and Nicholas Quinn are set to make their DePaul debuts Friday with Blue Demon athletes scheduled to compete in track events including the 60m, 400m, 300m, as well as the 4x100m relay. DePaul has also placed participants in the Field events such as shot put, weight throw, long jump, and pole vault.
DePaul began the 2025-2026 indoor campaign with a strong outing at the Notre Dame Blue & Gold Invitational in South Bend, Ind., last week. The Blue Demons compiled four first and second place finishers, highlighted by Jaiah Hopf in the women's long jump, and Jaiden Gary in the men's shot put. Newcomer Katelyn Welsh earned a DePaul school record in the women's pole vault in last week's South Bend competition with a 3.50m leap. Track and Field also sent some long distance runners to the Sharon Colyear Season Opener over the weekend, where Vivian Wyller secured a personal best in the women's 5000m, finishing in 17:11.22.
The Blue Demons shined in last year's Holiday Classic, earning the top spot in five events. Kash Allen broke a Blue Demon Holiday Classic record in the women's shot put with a distance of 15.51m. Claire Dunn and Joshua Edmonds both won the men's and women's 400m with times of 56.73 and 49.48 respectively, while the women's 4x400m relay team capped off the day with a victory and a time of 3:54.03.
