DePaul T&F Competes in Gibson Invitational

The Blue Demons Travel to Terre Haute, Ind.
CHICAGO – DePaul Track and Field travels to Terre Haute, Ind. for the Gibson Invitational, Friday April 19 and Saturday April 20. Fans can keep up with live stats here.
The meet features 32 other programs competing including, Chicago State, Butler, Marquette, Milwaukee, UIC and Valparaiso.
On Friday, the competition kicks off with the hammer throw featuring Ian Cox, Tommy Goggin, Kash Allen, Noelle Malkamaki and Billie Martin. Allen, Charlotte Anderson and Jessica Beckman compete in the javelin later in the afternoon.
On the oval, Gianna Sanchez is set to run in the women's 5000m. Nina Amicon will follow in the 3000m steeplechase with William Previdi competing on the men's side.
Saturday, Jaiah Hopf and Jordyn Showers start the day with the women's long jump. Hopf and Showers will join Eveline Reno and Alicia Jones for the women's triple jump later in the day.
Patrick Diakite, Reno and Amelia Barrington participate in the high jump while Cox, Allen, Beckman, Malkamaki and Kindle Miles compete in the shot put. Last weekend, Allen earned her second consecutive first place finish in the women's shot put with a mark of 15.04m at the Gary Wieneke Memorial Meet. Allen, Beckman, Malkamki, and Kylee Stammer are also scheduled to throw the discus following the men's shot put.
On the oval, fans can expect to see performances by Darius Brown and Paul Goins in the 110m hurdles. Brown captured first place in the event along with a third place finish in the 400m hurdles last weekend. Leandria Elam is also expected to run the 110m hurdles after achieving a lifetime best of 14.52 at the Gary Wienke Meet.
After a school record break in the women's 200m and a first place finish in the 100m last weekend, Jetta Mays is scheduled to compete in the 100m, the 200m and the women's 4x100m, Saturday afternoon.
Saturday's races will close out with the women's 4x400m relay with Kayliah Motes, Nadja Moll, Sonja Nagle and Claire Dunn expected to participate.
