Brooke Johnson Named to NFCA All-Region Great Lakes First Team

Johnson earns second All-Region Honors of her career
CHICAGO - DePaul softball fifth-year senior, Brooke Johnson was tabbed to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Great Lakes First Team after a strong offensive showing in her final season, where she started every game at first base.
This marks Johnson's second NFCA All-Region honor, as she was named to the NFCA All-Region Great Lakes Second Team in 2022.Â
The Chino Hills, Calif. native ended the season with a .362 batting average, ranking within the BIG EAST's top five. This season, Johnson tallied 11 home runs and led the team in almost all offensive categories, including a team-best .677 slugging percentage and 25 RBIs. Johnson recorded 283 putouts with eight assists at first base, earning a fielding percentage of .986.
Her 11 home runs this season capped off her career total of 37, which stands tied for the third most all-time in program history.Â
The All-Region awards honor softball student-athletes from the Association's 10 regions with first, second and third-team selections. NFCA member head coaches from each respective region nominated student-athletes (eight maximum) and voted for the teams. All awarded student-athletes now become eligible for the 2024 NFCA Division I All-America squads.
