Blue Demons Ready for 2024 NCAA Championships West Preliminary Rounds

CHICAGO – DePaul Track and Field is set to send seven qualifying athletes to the 2024 NCAA Championships West Preliminary Rounds starting Wednesday, May 22 through Saturday, May 25. Fans can keep up with live results here.
Darius Brown, Jetta Mays, Kash Allen, Jaiah Hopf, Billie Martin, Charlotte Anderson and Olivia Borowiak will make the trek down south to Fayetteville, Ark. This is the second West Regional appearance for Brown and Hopf.
Brown is scheduled to compete in both the men's 110m hurdles and 400m hurdles on Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. CT and 8:20 p.m. CT, respectively. If he qualifies for the quarterfinals in both events, Brown will race on Friday in the 110m hurdles and the 400m hurdles at 6:15 p.m. CT and 7:25 p.m. CT.
Brown's school record breaking time of 13.61 and his conference outdoor championship time of 51.25 in the men's 110m hurdles and the men's 400 respectively qualified him for the Preliminary Rounds.
On Thursday, Martin kicks off the competition with the women's hammer throw at 10 a.m. CT. Martin's qualifying hammer mark of 59.41m took place at the BIG EAST Outdoor Championships on May 9.
Anderson follows up with the javelin throw at 2 p.m. CT before Allen participates in the women's shot put at 7 p.m. CT. Both Anderson's qualifying javelin throw of 48.91m and Allen's qualifying shot put mark of 15.59m happened at the 114th Drake Relays on April 24 and April 25. Martin, Allen and Anderson all took home BIG EAST Outdoor titles in their qualifying events.
Mays competes on Thursday in both the women's 100m at 7 p.m. CT, followed by the 200m at 8:45 p.m. CT. If Mays makes it to both quarterfinals, she will compete at 6:35 p.m. and 7:50 p.m. respectively. The Blue Demon's two record breaking times of 11.43 and 23.42 clinched her qualification to the prelims.
The weekend-long competition finishes up with Hopf participating in the women's triple jump at 6 p.m. CT and Borowiak running the women's 5000m at 8:10 p.m. CT on Saturday. Hopf qualified for the women's triple jump with her mark of 13.08m from the Texas Relays on April 14 and Borowiak qualified for the women's 5000m with her school record breaking time of 15:55.46 that she earned at the BIG EAST Outdoor Championships. Both Blue Demons placed second in their qualifying events at Villanova.
Athletes who finish within the top-12 spots in their designated events are set to move onto the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Oreg. on June 5 through June 8.
