Bouck-Jagielski named sixth head coach in program history
CHICAGO - DePaul Vice President and Director of Athletics DeWayne Peevy announced the hiring of alumna Liz Bouck-Jagielski as head coach of DePaul softball, Tuesday afternoon. Bouck-Jagielski takes over as the sixth head coach in program history.
"I am excited about bringing Liz Bouck-Jagielski back to DePaul," said Peevy. "Her passion, recruiting and teaching ability are pivotal attributes that we were looking for in a head coach and throughout this search. Liz's work ethic is unmatched and she brings a wide variety of softball experience to the position. It's a great day to be a Blue Demon."
Bouck-Jagielski, a former Blue Demon letterwinner from 2000-2003, returns to Lincoln Park after spending the last 10 years coaching and mentoring high school athletes in the Chicagoland area. Most recently, she served as an assistant coach at Roosevelt University in 2024. Bouck-Jagielski has been vital in the development of high school athletes in preparation for college, working with the Orland Park A's and Extreme Elite.
"In many ways this feels like coming home. The DePaul family has always been good to me and I am grateful for all the years of success that we've shared," Bouck-Jagielski said. "As I assume the role of head coach, the best is yet to come. It's important to me to unite the past, present and future of DePaul softball to create the ultimate family powerhouse."
Bouck-Jagielski is a member of the DePaul Athletics Hall of Fame, after a four-year career that included helping lead the Blue Demons to four NCAA Tournaments and the program's second Women's College World Series in 2000. Bouck-Jagielski earned second-team All-American and Conference USA Player of the Year honors in 2002.
Following her playing career, Bouck-Jagielski served as an assistant coach for the Blue Demons from 2004-2011. During her time as an assistant, she helped DePaul return to the Women's College World Series in 2005 and 2007, in addition to seven NCAA Tournament berths during her tenure. Bouck-Jagielski led the Blue Demon's defensive efforts, helping the team record a season-best .986 fielding percentage in 2007.
The South Holland, Ill. native graduated from DePaul in 2004 and played professional softball for the Texas Thunder and Chicago Bandits during the 2004 and 2005 seasons.
Bouck-Jagielski and her husband Jon have five children, Cassidy, Peyton, Sadie, Anna and Ava.
