Former Green Bay pitcher returns home to Chicago
CHICAGO – DePaul softball head coach Liz Bouck-Jagielski announced the signing of junior transfer Kelly Greene on Wednesday afternoon. Greene, a right-handed pitcher, marks the first signing in Bouck-Jagielski's tenure at the helm in Lincoln Park.  Â

"Kelly is a Chicago native who we are bringing home! She has a ton of grit and collegiate experience coming from Green Bay" said Bouck-Jagielski. "She will be a player we look to make an immediate impact."

In two seasons with Green Bay, Greene made 40 appearances in the circle, throwing seven complete games and recording 125.1 innings of work. The Palos Heights, Ill. native tossed 59 strikeouts including 34 in her freshman campaign.

A three-year letterwinner at Shephard High School, Greene holds the program's record for career strikeouts and single season punchouts. She led the Astros to three conference titles and three regional championships in her career. Greene was named All-Conference all three seasons while selected All-State on two occasions.

Greene excelled in the classroom, earning honor roll accolades each semester while also being selected an Illinois State Scholar. Â At the travel ball level, Greene competed for Sparks Premier.

With two seasons of eligibility remaining, Greene plans to enroll in DePaul's Pre-Occupational Therapy program in the College of Science & Health.
