Hannah Messer Joins DePaul Pitching Staff

Talented freshman from Wylie, Texas signs with Blue Demons
CHICAGO – DePaul softball added depth to its pitching staff on Friday with the signing of right-handed freshman Hannah Messer. The Wylie, Texas native is the third signee to join head coach Liz Bouck-Jagielski's 2025 squad.
"Hannah has a chip on her shoulder and is ready to make an impact" said Bouck-Jagielski. "She is multi-dimensional being able to pitch, hit and play defense at an elite level."
In four years of varsity softball at Wylie High School, Messer amassed a 46-12 record in the circle, throwing 295 innings while recording 387 strikeouts to 89 walks. Behind the plate, Messer owned a .313 career batting average while driving in nine home runs.
Messer led the Pirates to four District and Area Championships while advancing to the Regional Quarter Finals all four seasons. Wylie was crowned regional champions in 2022 behind a 31-11 overall record including a 14-0 unbeaten mark in its district.
In the classroom, Messer earned Academic All-District honors three times and was twice named Academic All-State.
Messer plans to enroll in DePaul's Kinesiology and Educational Studies program.
